Our crafty volunteers have been hard at work making things to benefit The Scratching Post. Many of these hand-crafted items are being sold at the Meow Mart but we will also have booths at some local craft shows. Some of the beautiful items include greeting cards, book bags, wreaths, jewelry, dishcloths, aprons and cat toys. New items are being added frequently. If you love giving hand-crafted gifts or enjoy them for yourself, we hope to see you at the Meow Mart or one of the craft shows listed in the event calendar below.
If you are a crafter and have something to donate to our cause, you can bring it to The Scratching Post or Meow Mart.

Our auction is a silent auction. We have hundreds of items displayed on tables with a bid ticket for each item. You get a bidder number as you come in the door (free of charge) and mark your bids on items you want. You have to keep your eye on them, of course, as other people will be raising your bid. The tables are color coded and have staggered closing times so that we may more efficiently process the winning bids and keep the wait at the end of the auction to a minimum.
For those of you who have attended before, you know what a fun afternoon this is. We have everything from jewelry, hand crafted items, clothing (sweatshirts, jackets, pajamas, etc.), artwork, decorative accessories and gift certificates to lots of fun stuff for your cat. Not everything is cat-themed, but a good portion of it is. You're sure to see many wonderful items you've never seen before! If you've never attended this event, you'll marvel at what you've been missing all these years! If you'd like to donate an item to the auction, please call the shelter and leave a message. All proceeds from the auction support The Scratching Post.
Donations.. If you would like to donate an item(s) to the auction, we are continuing to accept donations for items such as cat toys, jewelry, artwork, gift baskets, gift certificates and, well, anything a cat or cat lover would want! Stop by the Scratching Post or Meow Mart to drop off your donations.
