Our minimum age for volunteers is 18. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the form below and e-mail it to volunteer@thescratchingpost.org
and someone will contact you with shift availability. First time volunteer orientations are typically held on a mutually agreeable date.
Typical Daily Volunteer Chores
Cleaning (windows, walls, carriers, brushing cat trees, etc.)
Sweeping outside catios, front offices, litter room
Folding towels/do laundry
Socializing the cats
Rinsing aluminum cans for recycling
Restocking supplies
Transport cats
Break down cardboard
Special Projects for Volunteers
Remodeling our rooms. We are S L O W L Y updating our shelter room-by-room. We need volunteers willing to scrub walls, patch holes, sand that patch compound and paint the walls. We also need someone to replace a portion of drywall. If you are interested in helping with any part of this project, please email volunteer@thescratchingpost.org for further information.

FOSTERING
Our fostering program is just one of the ways you can help the shelter. By opening your own home up to cats or kittens in need, you can help keep the shelter from overcrowding and also help us get to know a cat's personality or potential health issues in a quiet home environment.
Fostering costs nothing to you. All supplies and medical care will be covered by the shelter. You're always welcome to purchase food or treats or toys yourself, but it is never mandatory.
We request you start by volunteering at the shelter so we can get to know you and you can get comfortable with our organization.
